Walls keep me safe
Sleek steel formed from every slice of fate
Cold and unrelenting
Enticing and appealing, yet
Will not stick
To anything
I let him in a corridor
His eyes reveal his contemplation
Discipline gives him strength
Sharing his ability, gives stability
As a garden shares the sun,
All things are one
Momentary rescues
From behind these walls, I see
He feels safe
Just warm enough, too much will burn
Like a friend
With spiritual nerve
